Motherboard , LGA 2. V3 Socket, DDR4 3. Mhz+(OC): Computers & Accessories. I have very mixed feelings about this mother board. When it is running it is AWESOME but when it does not boot with full USB recognition of plugged in USB devices it is HOARRABLE. My issue is that about 7. USB devices - the keyboard or mouse or one of my hard drives ore combination of these is not recognized. It is quite random as to which USB device is not recognized, although lately it is usually the keyboard. I have other desktop and laptop computers and have verified that all my USB devices are working as they should and i have also changed USB cables to make sure there is not USB 3. The only solution is to re- boot, re- boot, re- boot and finally the keyboard or other device is recognized. My originally purchased mother board had these issues with ASUS tech support finally saying it must be something with the seating of the CPU and asked that I remove the CPU to inspect it - during the process of removing the CPU and inspecting the pins on the mother board I made the mistake of touching the pins with my finger and found that the pins actually have a bend at the top to allow better contact with the intel chip. To my surprise the pins are sharp and stuck to the skin of my finger and when I tried to remove my finger a few of the pins were bent. WARNINING - DO NOT TOUCH THE CPU PINS ON THIS MOTHER BOARD - VERY HIGH LIKLEYHOOD OF PIN DAMAGE. Would have been nice if the ASUS tech would have warned me about this when he asked me to remove the CPU to inspect the pins - Thanks ASUS. Thanks ASUS. I paid the $1. So I waited with great anticipation for the new board thinking everything would be great because my old ASUS Rampage III extreme was the most rock solid mother board I have ever seen and figured the first Rampage V was just a very EXPENSIVE lemon. Got the board, reinstalled everything, fired it up and continued USB recognition problems.. NOOOOOOOOO. Called ASUS tech support and went through the same helps but no more inspecting the CPU pins.. NO touching before assembly of the components. I said they would have to receive the replacement board before I would send this board to them as I cannot work without this computer. I said ok and gave them my credit card number. They were to email me the RMA and never did – I checked my junk mail as well. Never receive the RAM. I am tired of fooling with this issue so am writing this review and continue to fight with cold fresh boots at the beginning of the day. Today, once again, it took 4 boots before full start up. Bottom line: 1. When you finally get the system to boot with full USB device recognition – WOW this is a fast and rock solid machine and I love, love, love it during those periods. The board build quality is VERY high – no complaints at all. The board had GREAT difficulty booting consistently with full USB device recognition and when it is the keyboard it is quit maddening. ASUS tech support have a helpful attitude but you get a different tech support every time you call on the same issues – kind of like going to doctor to get a reoccurring or stubborn health issue resolved and getting a different doctor each visit. But this is true of all the tech supports I have ever experienced so nothing new here but the ASUS people are nice to work with just wish they had a solution in my case. And would be nice if they actually sent the RMA they said they would. I am looking to upgrade the processor in this mobo and I can not find any information other than Motherboard description Motherboard manufacturer's name: Asus P5RC-LA.When it works I love it – fast and reliable while warm – no issues with recognition of any added or removed USB device while running, such as 3. When I have to do a fresh boot in the morning I know I am in for a fight to get everything working. Seems like it needs to be warmed up to keep working. Hope this is of help to some one.
